HIV and SARS-CoV-2 hybrid symposium – 21st of October 2021

Posted by:

Every year in September, the HIV Cure Research Center organized a lively HIV-oriented symposium in the picturesque city of Ghent, Belgium. Since the pandemic outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 in 2020, the lab has also invested heavily in the initiation of key research in COVID-19. Therefore, for the second year in a row, we decided to organize an HIV and SARS-CoV-2 hybrid symposium, which will take place the 21nd of October. During this symposium we will discuss key aspects of SARS-CoV-2 pathogenesis and HIV cure.

We walk you through the basic principles of SARS-CoV-2 pathogenesis, pathophysiology and SARS-CoV-2 protection by vaccination. In addition, we focus on HIV reservoirs and cure.
The HIV and SARS-CoV-2 hybrid symposium will comprehensively summarize the state of the art in COVID-19 and HIV cure strategies.
